Solar Eclipse from the sea

On August 12, 2026, one of the most unique astronomical events of the coming years will take place: a total solar eclipse.
Join us for an exclusive astronomical experience at sea.

We do not know whether this will be the best place to observe the eclipse, nor whether the sky will be completely clear that evening. What we do know is that we will enjoy a sunset on board, sailing, surrounded by sea and history, in one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

The eclipse will be the main event, but the experience will begin with sailing at sunset, the atmosphere on board, and the magic of experiencing a unique moment at sea. Nature will take care of the rest.

To enhance the experience, you are welcome to bring snacks on board 😉

Information to keep in mind:

* From L’Escala, it will NOT be a total eclipse, but a very deep partial one. The Sun will be covered by approximately 98.8% to 99%, depending on the exact observation point. It is spectacular, but you will not see the solar corona or the darkness of a total eclipse.

Approximate times in L’Escala:
* 🌒 Eclipse begins: around 19:35
* 🌘 Maximum eclipse: around 20:28–20:29
* 🌅 Sunset: approximately 20:52–20:55 (mid-August in Empordà)
* The end of the eclipse will practically not be visible because the Sun will already have set.

From the boat:
* 🚤 Better visibility than many land locations
* 🌅 The maximum coincides with a spectacular sunset, with the Sun very low
* ☁️ The only factor no one can control is the weather

The price includes the boat excursion to observe the eclipse from the sea and certified protective glasses.
